Leukoplakia

The development of a white or gray patch or lesion of fibrous structural protein in the mouth is known as Leukoplakia. This lesion develops in response to chronic irritation. The lesion of Leukoplakia cannot be scrapped off easily. It is sometimes described as precancerous associated with smoking. This disorder is most common among elderly people.
