The sensation of dryness is the mouth due to lack of saliva is known as dry mouth. Xerostomia is its medical term. Several diseases, treatments and medication can cause this problem which could lead to difficulty in speech and eating. The protective function of saliva to remineralize the enamel does not occur causing various dental complications.
